Carly Rose is Born!!

Last night at 10:11 pm, Beth gave birth to Carly Rose Shoultz. 7lbs 13 oz 20.28 inches long.  The Lord really blessed us.  Saturday late in the night, Beth began having contractions.  We headed to the hospital at 5pm on Sunday and got settled into our room.  By 10:06pm,  Beth began pushing and at 10:11pm it was all over!!  Praise the Lord.  This morning, Grandma and Uncle West brought Gavin to meet her new sister.  He was a little unsure at first, but when we presented him with his own Gibson electric toy guitar from his baby sister, he thought she was totally cool.  He's warming up to her now.  Enjoy the pics :)

Happy New Year!

It's hard to believe it is 2008! As always we have been staying busy and learning to balance life with family, ministry, work, etc.... We are getting really excited about our daughter being born (due date is Feb. 18th!!) and cannot wait to meet her and see how Gavin interacts with his new sister! Unfortunately we haven't stayed very current on our various websites with details about our life and pictures, but hopefully I will at least get some updated pictures uploaded! Here are a few from this past fall and winter...

It's a GIRL!!!

WOW, we are so excited to share that Gavin is going to have a little sister! Here a few of our favorite ultra sound pictures! We will get to have another look at our baby girl at my next appointment because they thought perhaps she was a little small and wanted to check on her.

This is so neat, but if you can see this last photo of the baby's foot... the second toe is a little longer than the big toe. Well, she totally has my (Beth's) feet!! Gavin has Nathan's feet (which is something I noticed right away when he was born) and all of his toes are shorter than his big toe, hee hee. Anyway, that is just a really neat piece of information that I thought I would share with the world!

SO, now begins the trial of choosing a name!! I was so excited to know if it was a boy or girl so we could try to zero in on a name, but it seems to be more difficult than anticipated! Ideas anyone?

Where did summer go?

So much has taken place these past few months, it is difficult to know where to begin! The most exciting news we have to share is that we found out in June, that we are expecting another baby! We will hopefully find out in a little less than two weeks whether it is a boy or a girl (Lord willing!) and my due date is February 18th.

Gavin is growing up so fast, he is now 15 months old and is talking like crazy! He will repeat most anything, which is actually helping Nathan and I to refine our vocabulary if you know what I mean!

After a summer of traveling to Alaska, California and then also eastern Washington, we made it home to pack up our things at the church parsonage and move to our own apartment! We now live in Bothell, Washington and although it is sad to not be so close to the church, we live so close to so many friends!! Speaking of traveling, we actually just returned from short trip to Estes Park, Colorado with our West Coast staff/family! What a beautiful area! There is something about being in the grandeur of the mountains that causes me to reflect on God's creativity in His creation! The guys especially enjoyed the wildlife that was on display where we visited. I have to admit that it was amazing! Everywhere we went there were deer and/or elk! I really do mean EVERYWHERE! They were hanging out in our yard (note the picture of the deer under our porch!), they were downtown munching the grass in the middle of an apartment complex! (that is the picture of the bull by the tree!) and even wading in the water by the shops we were walking around. Another fun thing about Colorado was that we drove through the Rocky Mt. National Park. I included a picture of us at the continental divide! Neat eh?

Here are some pics from our trip to Alaska...

And unfortunately I didn't take many pictures at West Coast Camp, but you see the ones that were taken at www.westcoastcamp.org!!

Home Alone

Well, early yesterday morning I dropped Beth and Gavin off at the airport.  They're in AK visiting my parents.  I will join them for a couple days next week.  IN the meantime, I'm using the excuse to be out of the house as much as possible.  Yesterday I met with a pastor and talked to the sonics a bit about superbowl.  Today I had a discipleship meeting with a teen and dinner and Guitar Hero 2 at a friends house.  Tomorrow I'm heading all the way over to Moses Lake to visit their teen club.  THursday I've got to book it back for another pastor meeting.  Friday holds two pastor meetings and right now Saturday might be time to rest!  Sunday is a support presentation in the morning at Prairie Baptist in Yelm, WA and an Olumpian presentation there Sunday night.  Monday I fly to AK to visit family and speak at camp carmel for 3 days.  I won't bore you with anymore details, but suffice it to say that when I get back from that, West Coast Camp is just around the corner!  If you have a minutes, please be praying for us and our ministry.  We hope to raise our support and continue to grow our ministry within the area.  If you want to check out more about our ministry, visit http://nathanshoultz.wol.org

In the meantime, check out these pics!  I took Gavin on his first ever campout.  It was our father/son campout at church.
